Marinescu claims maiden win

Mihai Marinescu claimed his first ever F2 win at Monza, while Mirko Bortolotti all but wrapped up the 2011 title by finishing runner-up. Starting from pole, the Romanian lost the lead to Alex Brundle on the run down to the first corner but retook it one lap later heading into Turn 1 and from then on was never seriously challenged. "I've done a lot of things differently since Austria, starting with the preparation for the weekend itself and then a different approach to the whole weekend," Marinescu said.

Ekstrom on Valencia pole

Mattias Ekstrom took his second DTM pole position of the year at Valencia while title contenders Martin Tomczyk and Bruno Spengler both endured disastrous sessions. Ekstrom had made it through to the one-lap Q4 shoot-out after setting the fastest lap time of the weekend in the previous section of qualifying, and used the advantage afforded by being the last driver to take to the track to take the 19th pole of his DTM career in a time of 1m30.608s. Surprisingly DTM rookies Filipe Albuquerque and Renger van der Zande will start second and third after the Rosberg Audi and Persson Mercedes drivers took their career-best starting spots; Albuquerque 0.413s slower than Ekstrom in Q4

Senna: I?m still playing catch-up

Bruno Senna says he still feels he is far from fully up to speed despite his promising pace in his first three appearances with Renault. Since being called up to replace Nick Heidfeld at Spa, Senna has twice outqualified his team-mate Vitaly Petrov and came through the field after a first-corner delay to finish ninth at Monza, despite having had little track time since leaving HRT at the end of the previous season. But asked in a team preview interview whether he felt he was now on a more even keel with the other drivers, Senna replied: "Not yet

Grave Digger Driver Dennis Anderson Has a TV Show, You Can Watch It This Weekend

The concept is both simple and ambitious: travel the world using 80 different modes of transportation, with no repeats. We’re guessing a monster truck won’t be among them, despite the fact that Dennis Anderson?creator of Grave Digger, and the interviewee in the What I’d Do Differently feature in our upcoming December issue?is one of the show’s [...]
